Industrial Refrigeration Principles, Book I 


Fall 2009 -  Tuesdays; September 22 - December 22, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Course Description:   A RETA course designed for operating engineers, maintenance people and other individuals interested in learning the basic operation of large industrial refrigeration equipment and systems.  It is intended as a complete introductory refrigeration course for engine room or process equipment workers.  The following topical areas will be emphasized:
  • Plant Operator Fundamentals
  • Basic Refrigeration Cycle
  • Properties of Refrigerants
  • Components of Basic Refrigeration Systems
  • Basic Purging of Non-Condensables

The effective application of the techniques will be emphasized throughout the training.  Hands-on lab time will be provided to re-enforce the fundamentals of the compression refrigeration cycle using halocarbon systems.
