| College Transfer Any student who desires to transfer credits to Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology (TSCT) must have taken the classes at a college that is accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency, and must have received a grade of "C" or higher. Students may only transfer General Education classes. All classes that are non-General Education classes must be taken at TSCT. Once a student has completed one semester with a minimum GPA of 2.00 or better, transferred classes will be placed on the student's permanent record. Transferred classes are recoded with a “T” (transfer credit) in place of a merit grade. These classes do not factor into a student's GPA. Students should request an official transcript from the college(s) where courses were taken be mailed to the Registrar's Office. The Registrar's Office will evaluate all course descriptions. The Registrar reserves the right to request a syllabus and/or additional information in determining course transferability. | Special Needs Services Students who meet admissions standards and who are accepted into the institution as learning or physically challenged students, will receive reasonable accommodations as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1991. All students are expected to meet the same admissions standards and graduation requirements as determined by each program of study. However, students who choose to disclose their specific disability are provided with reasonable accommodations as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1991. To request accommodations a student must provide current (within three years) documentation that includes a diagnosis, how the diagnosis affects major life activities, and the specific accommodations that relate to the diagnosis. A student with a learning disability must also provide psychological testing that cites IQ and standardized testing to clarify the student’s current academic level of ability with respect to key academic areas. Please note that accommodations at the college level may differ significantly from accommodations provided at the high school level. Further, students are responsible for initiating disclosure, and communicating their needs. Information about a student’s disability is not shared with any staff or faculty until the student has completed the appropriate releases, and information is shared only on a need-to-know basis. Students may choose to not disclose; however, should they change their mind accommodations are not retroactive. |
