Bulldogs Make Their Mark: TSCT Track & Field Shines at National Championships

When the dust settled at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY, our Bulldogs had proven themselves among the nation’s elite Track & Field teams at the 2025 NJCAA Division III National Championships. Competing against 23 schools from across the country, the men’s team secured an impressive 6th place overall finish, while the women’s team—with just four athletes—earned a remarkable 9th place standing.

Women’s Team: Small but Mighty

The women’s squad exemplified what it means to be in high demand, with each athlete contributing multiple medal-winning performances:

  • Tyliyah Diaz-Cruz earned All-American honors in three separate events, finishing 2nd in the 800m and 3rd in both the 1500m and 5000m distance events
  • Kathryn McCrosson displayed remarkable versatility, medaling in three throwing disciplines: 5th in Discus, 6th in Javelin, and 8th in Shot Put
  • Madelyn Lemley secured All-American status with her 3rd place finish in Javelin
  • Sierra Snider rounded out the point total with an 8th place finish in Javelin

Men’s Team: Depth and Excellence

The men’s team brought a balanced attack across multiple event categories:

  • Colin Rilatt became a National Champion in Discus, earning All-American honors
  • Jonah Longenecker achieved All-American status with a 3rd place finish in the grueling Decathlon
  • The 4×800 relay team (Carter Bruckhart, Colin Rodriguez, Wyatt Tomison, Ben Madison) earned 4th place
  • The 4×400 relay squad (Isaiah Long, Colin Rodriguez, Isaiah Marshall, Keith Ford) secured 5th place

Additional standout performances included Nick Bradigan (5th in Discus, 7th in Hammer Throw), Zack Anthony (7th in Discus, 6th in Shot Put), Alexander Mansfield (4th in Pole Vault), Andy Hallman (5th in Pole Vault), and Johnathan Witmer (7th in Decathlon).

Champions On and Off the Track

Perhaps even more impressive than their athletic achievements was how our Bulldogs represented the college. Parents, NJCAA officials, and even hotel staff praised our athletes for their exceptional character and sportsmanship throughout the weekend.

The coaching staff noted that these athletes embodied the core values of Thaddeus Stevens College, competing with intensity while conducting themselves with tremendous class and integrity—truly demonstrating what it means to be part of our Bulldog community.

Their performance demonstrates how our student-athletes transform their potential into achievement through dedicated practice and coaching—the same hands-on approach that defines all programs at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.

Congratulations to our track and field teams on this outstanding achievement!
