Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology proudly celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2025 in two spirited Commencement ceremonies held on May 17. With degrees awarded across 25 high-demand technical programs, this year’s graduates are launching into careers that power Pennsylvania’s economy and strengthen communities across the region.
This year’s graduates represent more than just skill — they represent resilience, purpose, and impact.
“You are more than trained. You are trusted. You are more than prepared. You are empowered,” shared President Pedro A. Rivera II, Ed.D., in his commencement address. “You are more than ready. You are needed.”
Hands-On Training, Real-World Impact
From Cabinetmaking to Civil Engineering Construction Technology, graduates completed rigorous, hands-on programs taught by industry-experienced faculty. Many participated in real-world projects, including home construction, systems design, and collaborative capstone efforts that mirror the very careers they are now entering.
Honoring Excellence
At the 2025 ceremonies, the College also conferred two Honorary Doctorate Degrees to community leaders:
- Dr. Thomas Ryan, Director Emeritus of LancasterHistory
- Robin Sarratt, President & CEO of LancasterHistory
In addition, the Distinguished Service Award was presented to Cheryl Love, a leader in landscape architecture and mentor to emerging professionals in construction and design. Her commitment to the ACE mentorship program and her advocacy for student-led building projects exemplify the College’s mission in action.
A Mission That Builds Futures
As President Rivera shared, “At Thaddeus Stevens College, we don’t just talk about opportunity and access—we build it. We remove barriers to it. And we walk alongside our students every step of the way.”
Graduates of the Class of 2025 balanced rigorous coursework with jobs, family responsibilities, and life’s challenges. For some, this was the first college graduation in their family. For others, it was a step toward a fresh start or the next chapter after military service. Every story is different—but all share a common thread: transformation through technical education.
A Lasting Legacy
Rooted in the vision of Thaddeus Stevens himself—who believed in equality, access, and education for all—this year’s graduates are not just entering the workforce. They are entering as problem-solvers, innovators, and community builders.
“Today, we are not just sending graduates into the workforce; we are launching leaders into the world.”
Congratulations to the Class of 2025. Your impact is just beginning.
