The Summer | Fall 2025 edition of the Tower, the College’s flagship alumni publication, has officially launched—offering a collection of powerful stories that reflect the deep, enduring connections at the heart of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.
This issue centers on a single idea: connection. From students whose skills mirror those of past generations, to alumni and faculty whose legacies continue to shape the College, the stories featured illustrate how individuals and ideas are linked across time, community, and purpose.
A standout story features Masonry Technology student Sam Berryman, whose passion for craftsmanship has not only earned him national recognition but also traces back to a great-grandfather he never met. The Buckwalter family also takes center stage—three generations of Bulldogs whose shared connection to the College underscores the lasting impact of hands-on education and mission-driven opportunity.
On campus, readers will learn how faculty and industry collaboration are shaping the future of learning. When Architectural Technology Associate Professor and alumnus Tedd Williams ’00 reached out to Armstrong World Industries during a site visit, his simple question sparked a transformation. What followed was the reimagining of classroom spaces using donated systems and effort—turning environments into modern, functional learning labs.
This edition also highlights the rapid expansion of the Workforce & Economic Development Center, where new certificates in areas such as wood-finishing and robotics reflect the College’s responsiveness to labor market demands. These short-term, high-impact training programs complement the College’s two-year degrees and further its mission to equip students with the skills needed for immediate success.
The issue wouldn’t be complete without recognizing the legacy of Emeritus members—retired faculty and staff who have shaped generations of students and are now evolving their role to foster continued collaboration and mentorship. Alumni profiles and event recaps also illustrate the far-reaching influence of the Stevens community, from Lancaster to far beyond.
In his opening message, President Pedro Rivera reflects on how these stories are all about the ties that bind—between people, across generations, and through shared values. Whether you are reconnecting with a former classmate, mentoring a current student, or simply remembering what first drew you to the College, this issue is an invitation to celebrate that connection.
The full issue is available online. Readers are encouraged to dive in and explore how Thaddeus Stevens College continues to serve as an architect of opportunity—transforming lives through education, hands-on learning, and a strong community.
