Thaddeus Stevens College Awarded $1 Million Grant to Expand Dual Credit Access for High School Students

Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology is proud to announce it has been selected as a postsecondary partner in the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Dual Credit Innovation Grant Program, receiving $1 million to expand access to workforce-aligned technical education for high school seniors.

Beginning in Fall 2026, selected seniors in Lebanon County will have the opportunity to complete their first year of an associate degree in Electrical Technology or Electro-Mechanical Technology: two high-demand fields with strong career prospects and family-sustaining wages. Courses will be offered in the evenings at the Lebanon County Career and Technology Center, removing barriers of distance and access that too often stand between motivated students and a college education.

This initiative is specifically designed to support students who have been traditionally underserved in postsecondary pathways, connecting them directly to college-level technical education before they ever set foot on a college campus. Developed in partnership with SkillsUSA and the Lebanon County Career and Technology Center, the program reflects the core of what Thaddeus Stevens College has stood for since 1905: that every student, regardless of background or circumstance, deserves a real pathway to opportunity.

Trade and technical education can be a transformative first step, and this grant ensures more students will have the chance to take it.
